The business environment in the Republic of Moldova has a positive attitude towards the European course of the country. A number of 76% among Moldovan entrepreneurs support the country's integration process into the European Union, and half of them believe that their businesses are ready to operate successfully in accordance with the norms and technical requirements of the community.

"Barometer of Entrepreneurs who build the future of the Republic of Moldova" was made by Public Association Partnerships for the New Economy (PNE) during the current August - September period and presented on September 30 in Chisinau. Survey results showed an optimistic perspective of Moldovan entrepreneurship and demonstrates the aspiration of the local business environment towards the European market and standards.
Entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova see EU accession as an opportunity for economic growth and modernization, but they also recognize the challenges of adapting to European standards, for example additional costs for compliance with EU regulations (38,6%) or the need to conform products and services (37 ,7%).
More than half of respondents identified tougher competition (50.2%) as their main concern about European integration. At the same time, over 54% of the respondents consider access to financing and partnerships with EU companies essential to adapt to EU requirements.
The deepening of these economic relations with Romania represents a faster and easier way to integrate into the European Union, believes more than 75% of the respondents to the survey, given that 6.5% already have a business in the neighboring state and a similar number of Moldovan entrepreneurs intend to establish a company in Romania. However, economic relations with Romania are perceived as insufficiently developed in relation to the existing potential, considering the geographical, linguistic and cultural proximity.
Ask if they approve of the direction in which things are moving in the Republic of Moldova, over 58% of the respondents answered affirmatively.

In this context, PNE director Natalia Gavrilița declared in the opening speech of the event:
"The voice of entrepreneurs is essential in the national debate regarding the future of Moldova. Through their active involvement, we can build a stronger economy and a more prosperous society.
Our barometer is not only a measuring tool, but also a platform for dialogue and action. It provides us with vital information to create public policies that stimulate sustainable economic development and facilitate the process of European integration",
The survey was carried out in Project "Assessment of the sentiment / attitudes of the business environment regarding EU integration" with the aim of measuring the opinions of entrepreneurs about the national economy, public services, their businesses, as well as about joining the European Union, in the conditions in which Moldovan citizens will decide whether they want EU membership status for their country in the referendum on October 20, 2024.
