Sergiu Litvinenko

Sergiu Litvinenco is the co-founder of the public association Partnership for the New Economy. After graduation from the State University of Moldova, department of law, he worked in the public administration, as well as in projects supported by the World Bank, the UN Development Program, UNICEF, and USAID.

He was elected to the Parliament of Moldova in 2019, serving as the chairman of the Legal Commission for Appointments and Immunities (June – November 2019). He was re-elected in the early parliamentary elections in July 2021.

Between August 2021 and February 2023, Sergiu Litvinenco held the position of the Minister of Justice in the Government headed by Natalia Gavrilița. He launched a reform to clean up the justice system through an extraordinary external evaluation of judges and prosecutors.
