Valeriu Prohnițchi

Valeriu Prohnițchi graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (Bachelor in Economics and Finance, 2000), the State University of Moldova (MA in Mathematical Modeling of Socioeconomic Processes, 2010), and the Doctoral School of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (doctoral thesis in economics, The Impact of Macroeconomic Policies on the General Economic Balancing, 2021).

He worked as the executive director of the Expert-Group Independent Analytical Center (2005-2013), as an economic adviser to the Prime Minister of (2013-2015), and policy specialist of UNDP Moldova (2017-2018). In 2021-2023 he acted as an external economic consultant for the Moldovan Government.

Mr. Prohnitchi is currently the executive director and founder of Polisistem, a think-tank analyzing and designing complex policies. In the role of lead scientific researcher at the National Institute of Economic Research, he is concerned with the modeling of economic and demographic processes, of system dynamics, applied econometrics, and the use of computer-assisted learning algorithms for data analysis and economic forecast.
